The All Tryon movie that has filled three auditoriums will be shown again tonight for benefit of those who failed to see it before. Time 8. . . The Rev. Clarence Alfred Cole, 44, of Charleston, W. Va., elected Episcopal Bishop of Upper South Carolina. Among those nominated were the Rev. John A. Pinckney, former rector of Church of Holy Cross. Bishop Cole has been prominent in summer work at Kanuga . . . Highway division realignments put Polk County in a new division with Harry E. Buchanan of Hendersonville as commissioner. Division includes Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Havwood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon. Swain, Transylvania and Polk. Full re _Continued on Back Paije_ HOSPITAL NEWS Mrs. Dorthea Heatherly, Rt. 2, Landrum was admitted to St. Luke’s Hospital. Patients dis charged include Mrs. James E. Higgins and daughter of Tryon and Mrs. Robert Vernon and daughter of Rt. 1, Saluda. Mr. and Mrs. G. Harrison Bridgeman Jr. of Tryon are par ents of a son born May 11th at 10:25 a. mi. Mr. and Mrs. William Spivey of Tryon are the parents of a girl born May 11th at 2:05 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Raines of Landrum are the parents of a girl born May 11th at 3:05 p. m. Regular Bridge Friday Director Stanislas Czetwertyn ski states that the Master Point night scheduled for this week at Oak Hall has been postponed to a later date. However, the club will play regular duplicate bridge Friday at 7:45 at the hotel. New ] comers and other bridge players | desiring to play duplicate are invited." OFF FOR INDUCTION The following- men left Tuesday morning from Polk County for induction in the armed forces: Charles Foster, Franklin Paul Ruff, Dewey King, Leander Brown low Parker, William Clyde Skip per, Homer Williams and William Clyde Price. The Home Friendly Club officiat ed at the farewell service. The Rev. Joe Wagner, serving as chaplain, distributed prayer books and crosses. The metal crosses were made by L. C. Porter. Mrs. C. W. Nagel and Mrs. J. 0. Safford served coffee and cookies for the Home Friendly Club and distribut ed cigarettes furnished by the Rotary Club. Mrs. Albert Leonard, who has served as secretary of the Selec tive ' Service Board for several years, has resigned, effective June 1 when she leaves for Kinston, N. C., to join her husband who has a position there. Landrum Masons Meet The Landrum Masonic Lodge will meet tonight, Tuesday, at 8. The Friendship Group of the First Baptist Church will have a covered, djsh supper tonight at 7. There; will be a program of music following'f*the supper.
